Context
Pool Brew, a Blackpool-based microbrewery, commissioned a new visual direction for their expanding range of beers ahead of a product launch in April 2026.
The aim was to create a cohesive identity that could sit across both draught and packaged formats bringing consistency to the brand while allowing each brew to retain its own character.
The work needed to function across bar environments, retail settings, and direct-to-consumer formats.
CREATIVE ROLE
Lead Designer & Artist
Development of overall visual identity for beer range
Design of keg badges across multiple brews
Creation of 4 can designs for flagship releases
Execution
A flexible visual system was developed to unify the Pool Brew range, balancing consistency with individuality across each product.
Keg badges were designed to work within bar settings ensuring clarity, recognisability, and impact at point of serve—while maintaining a strong visual link to the wider brand.
Alongside this, four can designs were created for the brewery’s core range, translating the identity into a packaged format suitable for retail and wider distribution.
Each design carries its own personality while sitting within a shared visual language allowing the range to feel cohesive without becoming repetitive.
Outcome
Full set of keg badge designs across Pool Brew range
4 can designs created for April product launch
Cohesive visual identity applied across draught and packaged formats
Strengthened brand presence across bar and retail environments
Impact
The project established a clear and adaptable visual identity for Pool Brew—allowing the brand to scale across new products and formats while maintaining consistency.
By aligning artwork across both keg and can design, the work creates a unified presence from bar tap to shelf.
