Context
Sentric Music, a global music publishing company, commissioned a body of work for their new offices at Exchange Flags in Liverpool.
The project centred on artists within their roster—including Slyvester, Grandmaster Flash, Circa Waves, and Djo—aiming to visually represent the diversity of sound and influence across their catalogue.
The brief was to create artwork that could capture the energy of each track while forming a cohesive visual presence within the workspace.
creative role
Lead Artist
Live creation of artwork in response to individual tracks
Visual interpretation of multiple artists and genres
Development of final pieces for permanent installation
Execution
Each artwork was created live, with the duration of the process matching the length of the track itself.
This approach allowed the work to be shaped directly by sound—responding in real time to rhythm, tempo, and tone resulting in a series of pieces that reflect the individuality of each artist while maintaining a consistent visual language.
The final collection spans multiple genres, from the legacy of Grandmaster Flash to contemporary artists such as Circa Waves and Djo, creating a layered representation of Sentric’s catalogue.
Selected pieces were developed into large-scale lightbox installations, adding depth and presence within the space while enhancing the visual impact of the work.
Outcome
Creation of a multi-piece artwork series representing Sentric artists
Permanent installation within Sentric’s Liverpool HQ
Two artworks developed into large-scale lightbox installations
Translation of music into a cohesive visual system across the space
impact
The project transformed sound into a physical presence within the workplace embedding the identity of the artists directly into the environment.
By aligning the creation process with the duration of each track, the work establishes a direct relationship between music and mark-making, reinforcing the connection between artist, sound, and space.
