Context
I was invited by the OH Foundation to create a fully immersive installation within their concept store in Chester.
The project focused on taking over the basement space—reimagining it as a cohesive visual environment that could sit somewhere between retail, exhibition, and experience.
The aim was to move beyond individual artworks and instead create a space that visitors could step into and engage with as a whole.
Creative role
Lead Artist
Concept development for immersive environment
Full design and execution of installation
Transformation of architectural space through artwork
Execution
The installation was developed as a continuous visual composition, spanning walls, surfaces, and spatial elements to create a fully unified environment.
Rather than treating the space as a series of separate surfaces, the artwork flows across the entire room—blurring boundaries between wall, object, and structure.
The visual language remains bold and expressive, using line, form, and colour to build a sense of movement and immersion throughout the space.
Designed specifically for the basement setting, the work transforms the environment from a functional retail area into an experiential space—encouraging visitors to move through and interact with the artwork
Outcome
Full transformation of concept store basement into immersive installation
Creation of a continuous artwork environment
Integration of art within retail / exhibition hybrid space
Delivered as a permanent feature within the store
Impact
The project shifts artwork from surface to space—creating an environment that visitors experience rather than observe.
By treating the entire room as a canvas, the work moves beyond traditional mural practice into spatial design, positioning the artwork as an integral part of the architecture.
