CONTEXT
Since 2018, I’ve worked with Astral—an independent platform championing Liverpool’s underground and electronic music scene.
The collaboration focused on building a consistent visual identity that could move across events, merchandise, and live experiences reflecting the diversity and energy of Astral’s programming.
The aim was to create something that felt embedded within the scene, rather than applied to it.
CREATIVE ROLE
Lead Artist & Visual Collaborator
Development of visual identity across events and merchandise
Creation of gig posters and apparel
Delivery of live art activations
Execution
A bold, graphic visual language was developed to capture Astral’s eclectic mix of genres from jazz-infused sets to club focused electronic music.
This identity was applied across gig posters, streetwear, and digital outputs creating a recognisable presence across Liverpool’s music landscape.
Alongside this, live art played a central role within selected events, where artwork was created in real time adding a visual layer to the music and enhancing the overall atmosphere.
The work extended beyond design into experience—blending art, sound, and audience into a connected environment.
Outcome
Ongoing visual identity developed for Astral
Artwork applied across events, merchandise, and live activations
Strengthened presence within Liverpool’s underground music scene
Contribution to a collaborative, community-led creative platform
Impact
The project embeds visual art within music culture creating a shared identity that connects artists, audiences, and environment.
By working across multiple touch points, the collaboration moves beyond branding into cultural contribution—supporting emerging artists and amplifying underrepresented voices within the scene.
