Context
Man Outta Time is a collaborative project created with electronic music artist Yank Scally, built around the idea of translating emotional and conceptual themes into a combined visual and sonic experience.
The work explores the relationship between time, identity, and modern life—using animation and sound to create a series of interconnected pieces that sit between art, narrative, and music.
Creative Role
Lead Visual Artist
Development of visual narrative and animation
Translation of sound into moving image
Collaboration with musician to shape overall direction
Execution
A series of animations were created in direct response to original soundtracks each piece paired with a bespoke composition to form a unified audio-visual work.
The process focused on interpreting the emotional tone of the music—translating rhythm, atmosphere, and concept into motion, form, and visual language.
Rather than functioning as standalone visuals, each animation works as part of a wider narrative system where sound and image operate together to create a layered experience.
The collaboration was developed organically, allowing both disciplines to influence one another—resulting in a dialogue between visual storytelling and electronic sound design.
Outcome
Series of original audio-visual works
Collaboration between visual art and electronic music
Development of a narrative-driven multimedia project
Exploration of animation as an extension of fine art practice
Impact
The project expands artwork into time-based media using motion and sound to explore themes that extend beyond static form.
By combining animation and music, Man Outta Time creates a more immersive way of experiencing visual art positioning it within a broader, multi-sensory context.
